Manager – Briarview Co-operative Homes Inc.

About us:

Established in 1981 in the heart of Mississauga, Briarview Co-operative Homes Inc. is a 68-unit family housing co-operative providing a living experience for families in a culturally diverse community. It is a Section 95 Co-op with mortgage paid out. Briarview operates as a non-profit organization and is a member of the Peel Halton Co-operative Housing Federation and the Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada.

After more than two decades in the role, the Manager is retiring from this active and vibrant housing co-op and that makes space to usher in a new operational leader who will both sustain the thriving nature of this community and bring fresh ideas for ongoing growth and sustainability for Briarview Co-operative Homes, its members and its board of directors.

Responsibilities include:

  • Financial administration, reporting, and bookkeeping
  • Daily operations of property management and maintenance activities
  • Governance, compliance, and legal administration
  • Supervision of administration and maintenance staff
  • Representing the co-op in communication and interactions with the board, the membership, and the general public

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in co-op housing management preferred.
  • Diploma in Business Administration, or Property Management, or equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of contracts along with scope of work preparation and review.
  • Solid working experience in financial tracking, analysis and reporting.
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management and office organization skills.
  • Proven effective problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience in office technology programs with an emphasis on MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook. Working knowledge of the Newviews accounting program is an asset.
  • Demonstrated work history of reliability, accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

The compensation package includes salary, benefits, and variable bonus incentive. Benefits include retirement savings contribution and a group health insurance.
